Tottenham Hotspur looked at the possibility of signing FC Copenhagen’s Victor Froholdt in 2024.
On Wednesday, Tipsbladet stated Spurs were keen on the midfielder in 2024 but didn’t go ahead with the operation because they felt his £5m asking price was high. They also said he’s now worth £15-20m due to his rise at the Danish club.
Tottenham have been dragged into the mix to sign the 19-year-old in the summer window. This was reported in the UK, and a fresh report from Tipsbladet looks at these links.
The north London club were interested in him in the past, but the situation is different now. Ange Postecoglou has Rodrigo Bentancur, Yves Bissouma, Pape Sarr, James Maddison and Lucas Bergvall as midfielders at his disposal.
Tipsbladet found out from their sources that Tottenham have ‘no room for a large purchase’ of a new midfielder. That should rule out them making an approach for their old target in the upcoming window.
Froholdt managed six goals and three assists from 50 games for Copenhagen this season.
Tottenham have struggled in the Premier League as they are 17th in the table. They face Manchester United in the Europe League final next week and need to win this to qualify for the Champions League.
