It was just last week that Manchester City were linked to Stuttgart left-back Borna Sosa. Reports from the Italian media claimed that the Citizens, along with Juventus, have been interested in the 24-year-old player this summer.
With a director from the Bundesliga side claiming a sale wouldn’t be bad for the club, that only fuelled the rumours about an exit, even though there were no clear signs there were serious talks from any of the sides for his transfer.
As Kicker today writes about Sosa’s fitness situation, they dedicate one paragraph to the reported interest from Manchester City, and completely dismisses it.
The outlet writes that the rumours have ‘not yet become facts’. They point out the Croatian media had also been talking about Pep Guardiola’s interest in the player, and then say there ‘is currently no reliable evidence for this’.
With Manchester City looking for a new left-back, multiple targets have been linked with the Premier League champions. The interest in Sosa may even be real, but if the German media denies it, then it probably hasn’t reached Stuttgart yet.
