It’s been quite the rollercoaster at Barcelona on Monday, especially at their local hospital.

The La Liga side are looking for a new striker on transfer deadline day, and there was genuine hope Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, currently alienated at Arsenal, would be that man.

The Gabon international even made an appearance in Barcelona, arriving at the airport, which many believed meant he was actually moving to Spain.

The Catalan side, in the meantime, set up everything needed for a medical at the Hospital de Barcelona, just in case an agreement with Arsenal could be reached, but that wasn’t to be the case.

Claims from England pointed towards the deal being off, but everyone at the hospital was still on standby, with Gerard Romero even going as far as suggesting a medical was still on, just for a different player.

Well, El Partidazo de COPE are now tweeting that ‘no one’ from Barcelona has ‘called the Hospital de Barcelona to cancel the medical’ for Arsenal’s Aubameyang, and the medical staff are still there ‘ready to do it’, simply ‘waiting for developments’.

This is going to be a long evening…
