Following reports from the English and the French media regarding Leicester City’s interest in Porto star Fabio Vieira, it’s now time for the Portuguese press to come up with a response to it.

As newspaper Record writes about this situation today, the first thing they make clear is that ‘there are no negotiations’ for the 22-year-old’s move to the Foxes.

Now in case Leicester City’s interest is real and they’re going for the signing, then the outlet has a couple of things to say about that possibility.

First pointing out Vieira has a Transfermarkt valuation of €25m, Record claims this is an amount the Foxes can ‘easily’ spend to strengthen their team, but would only be enough to ‘start talks’ with Porto for this transfer.

Record labels Vieira ‘one of the best talents of his generation’, meaning that since he’s protected by Porto with a €50m release clause, it’s said the Dragons will only let him go for something close to that.

And regarding Leicester City’s chances of landing the winger, it’s written that it still needs to be seen if the player will accept the transfer, since ‘the Foxes are out of European competitions’.
