Juventus appointed Maurizio Sarri as their new manager last summer after Massimiliano Allegri stepped down.
Prior to the former Chelsea manager’s arrival, Pep Guardiola was linked with the Turin club. However, he continued with Manchester City and his contract at the Etihad runs until 2021.
City are 22 points behind Liverpool in the title race, which has led to some negative reflections. There have been rumours about Guardiola possibly leaving the Premier League winners after this season, even though he has publicly expressed his desire to continue.
Former Juventus manager Luigi Maifredi, who is currently technical coordinator at Brescia, gave an interview to TuttoJuve and backed Guardiola to join the Italian champions, if he leaves City after this campaign.
“It is normal that at the first negative results, his name is once again linked to the Bianconeri.”
There have been recent suggestions that Sarri will be relieved from his duties and Allegri will return to Juventus. However, Maifredi has urged his former club to retain Sarri, at least until the end of the season.
“I judge the voice of a possible return of Allegri not true, for me it is right to continue with Sarri, at least until the end of the season,” he added.
