Chelsea have not made any contact for Manchester United’s Dean Henderson, a source has told Sport Witness.
The goalkeeper has completed an impressive loan spell at Sheffield United, which included 13 clean sheets and 33 goals conceded in 36 league matches.
On Monday, the Mirror reported the Blues are weighing a £55m move for the keeper, and are ready to offer £170,000 per week.
This came a week after the Manchester Evening News explained that Frank Lampard wants to replace Kepa Arrizabalaga with the 23-year-old, and Chelsea have ‘made contact’ with Henderson’s representative.
However, these claims have been dismissed and a source has told Sport Witness that Chelsea have not made any contact with the Manchester United owned player’s camp.
Prior to joining the Blades on loan last summer, Henderson signed a new contract at Old Trafford. His current deal runs down in 2022 and there’s an option to further extend it by a year.
The same source has also told Sport Witness that Henderson could commit his long-term future to the Red Devils “if all terms” of the renewal offer are “right”.
