Brazilian side Fortaleza have turned down the rumours which have recently linked them to the Chelsea attacker Lucas Piazon.
The story showed up on Twitter this week, and even though it didn’t seem true at all, the club’s board has been contacted to speak about the subject.
Talking to Diário do Nordeste, Fortaleza’s director of football Sérgio Papellin said: “We never even talked about this player here at Fortaleza, no chance of coming.”
This is not the first time Piazon is recently linked to a return to Brazil. Rumours also said he could join Vasco, and he admitted it would be an ‘interesting’ move.
Signed from São Paulo on a €7.5m deal in 2012, Lucas Piazon made only three appearances for Chelsea in these seven years. He’s had six loan spells, having spent last season at Chievo Verona.
Although his contract with the Blues was supposed to expire this summer, claims from Brazil have said it’s set to run until 2020.
