Celtic’s 3-1 victory over RB Leipzig is getting lots of coverage in the German media.
Given Borussia Dortmund’s demolition of Brendan Rodgers’ side at the beginning of October, beating Celtic didn’t appear too unreasonable a task for RB Leipzig to complete.
Indeed, they’re currently second in the Bundesliga table, three points behind Bayern Munich and three points ahead of Eintracht Frankfurt.
Marco Rose’s side even went ahead with a goal from Christoph Baumgartner, but Nicolas Kühn then scored the equaliser before sending Celtic ahead.
The 24-year-old arrived at Celtic in the January window, moving from Rapid Wien. He’d previously spent time in RB Leipzig’s youth system, so the performance was even more pleasing for him.
Sky Deutschland are covering his game, and state that he’s repeatedly made clear his desire to play for Germany’s national side.
They explain to a German audience that Kühn is enjoying a ‘golden moment’ at Celtic and that his equalisder was ‘a real stroke of genius’.
They then drag up August quotes from the attacker: “The clear goal is still: I want to be in the national team at some point.”
Sky Deutschland explain there’s been ‘no call yet’ from Julian Nagelsmann, but the clear impression is that Kühn has taken a big step forward in that direction.
