This morning, we covered claims from the Portuguese press which reported Filip Krovinovic’s move to West Bromwich Albion.

After some days of reports, the local media is now sure the Benfica midfielder is joining the Baggies on a one-year loan spell. The announcement is said to be ‘imminent’.

Portuguese newspapers continue to say that West Brom are paying around £300k (with some stating €300k, perhaps by mistake) for the loan, and this amount will be doubled in case they get the promotion to the Premier League.

The only thing we’ve seen the local reports disagreeing about was a buying option. This morning, this issue was only mentioned by Correio da Manhã, who said the English side would have a clause in the contract to make the move permanent.

A source close to the transfer has told Sport Witness that there’s no such clause, so the Baggies would have to negotiate a new deal with Benfica in case they decide to keep Krovinovic after the end of the loan spell.
