Borussia Dortmund clearly look towards the English market for talented youngsters who would be interested in a move to German football. That’s served them well with the signings of Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham, and therefore the club are endlessly linked with others in England.
A fresh link has emerged in recent days, with claims from the English media saying Aston Villa youngster Carney Chukwuemeka has agreed a move to the Bundesliga side and it’s just a matter of whether he goes this summer or next.
Chukwuemeka’s contract situation has been part of the story, and Dortmund were presented as being confident they have a deal in place for the 18-year-old to move from Aston Villa.
Patrick Berger, of Germany’s Sport1, has now completely dismissed those claims, and done so in a strong way. The journalist says that despite claims in the English media suggesting otherwise, the player will not be joining Borussia Dortmund, and ‘there is no agreement’ for him to do so.
Presumably that information has come from a BVB source, and they clearly don’t want to get into a war with Aston Villa if they’re not even keen.
