Tottenham Hotspur fans were understandably excited, after their team calmly overcame Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City 2-0.

ESPN Brasil reporter João Castelo Branco was at White Hart Lane to follow the match and to show the fan reaction, and one of these supporter quotes was picked for the story about the match.

“He’s the South Korean Neymar, isn’t he? Or Neymar is the Brazilian Son,” said a Spurs fan comparing the team’s current main man to Brazil’s best player.

Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho was interviewed by the Brazilian TV channel too, and credited Tottenham’s win to City’s bad game: “We knew we were going to face this. But unfortunately we could not work our build up, our pressure on their build up was a little late. We came late in the plays.

“As a result we ended up giving a lot of space for them and they ended up scoring two goals and sealed their victory.”

The squads are now away for international duty, with Premier League club only playing again in mid October. Manchester City are still on top of the table, but now only one point ahead of Spurs.
