With Raphinha seemingly on the way out from Leeds United, Jesse Marsch is going to have to find an adequate replacement for the winger.
Noa Lang isn’t exactly that, but the two players have a similar ability to drive at the opposing team with their dribbling, and have an eye for either goals or assists.
The Brazilian found the back of the net 11 times for Leeds in the recently finished season, as well as picking up three assists, while the Dutchman was the star of the show at Club Brugge, scoring nine times and assisting another 15 in 48 appearances.
Raphinha is more of a right winger, coming onto his left foot, while Lang is right-footed and mainly plays on the left, but we all know Leeds United tried to sign him in the past, back when Marcelo Bielsa was in charge.
Their interest was reportedly still present in May, suggesting that Marsch might also be keen to work with the forward, who could leave this summer.
That’s according to Carl Hoefkens, Club Brugge’s new manager, who, in a press conference, admitted two of his stars could find themselves bigger clubs in the current transfer window.
He said, relayed by Soccer News: “I hope to keep De Ketelaere here and Noa too, but I know there’s a good chance – some more than others – that the next step is coming. We’ll see that in the coming weeks.”
Whether Leeds come back to the fore for Lang seriously remains to be seen, but the player recently revealed the Elland Road residents made three bids for him in the past, even flying over to negotiate his signing.
