Patrice Evra’s departure from Juventus seems possible after the news which said the club wouldn’t be using their option to renew his contract for one more year.
Italian outlets have been following the situation closely, and this afternoon two websites have updates on the recent talks.
Calcio Mercato claim that Evra’s entourage are waiting to see if more possibilities from the Premier League will show up. For now, West Ham and Manchester United have both been linked.
They say that the ‘next few hours’ will be decisive for the transfer, since a decision is expected to be made before the end of the week.
With Juventus wanting Matteo Darmian, Manchester United have an advantage on any potential deal.
Calcio Mercato.it (which is a different website) claims that there were no conclusions on a move to Manchester United today. So Juventus will just wait for an offer that pleases both the player and the club.
Despite a Manchester United return being the obvious thing to speculate, we’re still to see some convincing reports about an interest from the English club. Evra didn’t leave Old Trafford on top form, and certainly isn’t the same player now at 35 years old.
His wish to go back shouldn’t be enough for the transfer to happen.
