There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Kocaelispor are showing interest in Sheffield United goalkeeper Ivo Grbic.
The 29-year-old spent last season on loan at Çaykur Rizespor after falling out of favour with the Blades during the 2023/24 campaign.
Taka Gazete today report on Kocaelispor’s links with the Sheffield United owned keeper, who doesn’t seem to have a future at Bramall Lane. Kocaelispor were recently promoted to the Super Lig as T.T.1 champions and are looking to recruit ahead of next season.
It’s claimed the Turkish side have already held transfer talks with Grbic and an offer has been made to the Croatian. However, they haven’t been able to convince the player with their first proposal, but are likely to try again with an improved offer.
There are no reports of whether Sheffield United have been approached or if a bid has been made to the Championship side.
Kocaelispor should expect to face competition to sign Grbic after claims Caykur Rizespor want him to remain with them after his loan deal expires at the end of the month.
Caykur Rizespor will also hold talks with Grbic as they look to add to their squad this summer.
The goalkeeper made 22 appearances in the Super Lig last season and is contracted to Sheffield United until June 2027.
