Following the transfer rumours which have been linking Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech to Serie A clubs, Italian outlet CalcioMercato.it comes up with a story today to clarify the situation.
There are two sides who have been said to be interested in the 28-year-old, which are Milan and Napoli, but none of them seem to be close on landing the player for now.
The outlet first confirms that both clubs want Ziyech, saying the Rossoneri made ‘exploratory contacts’ about a month ago, while the Azzurri have his signing ‘approved’.
The latter could make the Chelsea player ‘one of the very first names’ on the shortlist of newly appointed manager Luciano Spalletti.
However, none of them started ‘official contacts or negotiations’ so far, with ‘nothing concrete’ from the Italian clubs.
One of the reasons for it is that Chelsea are still to give their word on Ziyech’s situation.
Even though the Blues already pointed out that some of their players could leave the club in the summer market, as their sale will help them with the incoming transfers, there’s still no final decision on the Morocco international.
Signed from Ajax on a €40m last summer, Ziyech had six goals and four assists in 39 appearances for the Stamford Bridge side so far.
