Leaving the Ukraine job after the 2020 Euros, Andriy Shevchenko has been waiting for the right job to return to management, and he appears to have found it at Genoa.
In search of a new manager, the Serie A side turned their attention to the former striker, who knows the league well from his many years at Milan, and transfer targets are already being drawn up.
One of those, according to Il Secolo XIX and relayed by Sport Mediaset is Christian Pulisic, who only has four appearances to his name under Thomas Tuchel this season at Chelsea.
It remains to be seen how important he will be to the German’s plans, but Shevchenko has his eye on him, with the American described as ‘ideal for the 4-3-3 the manager has in mind’.
We’ll have to see what comes of all this, but considering the Ukrainian’s history with Chelsea, they might be inclined to let Pulisic go for a bit if it means guaranteed first team football under someone they know well.
