When speaking to the Mexican media this week, Newcastle United’s new signing Santiago Muñoz talked about how happy he is to have signed for the Magpies.

He couldn’t have sounded happier.

The 19-year-old, however, claimed he still couldn’t join the U23 squad for training, since the club have been giving him individual sessions before he can work with the group.

Now in a new story from ESPN Mexico, they actually learned that things have already changed for the striker.

According to their piece, Munoz has now started training with the U23 squad. It’s said he’s now working to be physically ready to play.

ESPN Mexico points out that Munoz last played a game in May, when featuring for Santos Laguna, where he only stayed on the pitch for 22 minutes. So there’s obviously some work to be done until we get to see him in action.

On Thursday, the player revealed that he’s taking the number 30 at Newcastle. He’s loaned to the club until December 2022, with the Magpies having a buying option over him until then.
