Kalidou Koulibaly is expected to leave Napoli in the upcoming window and has been linked with several clubs across Europe.
Ever since the reports of Newcastle United’s takeover by a mainly Saudi consortium emerged, the Magpies have been linked with the centre-back.
Transfer expert Fabio Santini has provided an update on the 28-year-old during 7 Gold Sport’s Il Processo and it’s relayed by Area Napoli.
The journalist states Steve Bruce’s side are willing to make a ‘super offer’ to bring the defender to the Premier League.
However, they are not the only side looking at him as Santini adds Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain also like the defender.
Apart from the aforementioned clubs, Santini goes on to add Real Madrid are chasing the Senegal international and further adds the La Liga side have long been interested.
According to Santini, the Tyneside club have a plan to overtake Real Madrid.
“Newcastle have made it known to Napoli they plan to offer ten million more than Real Madrid. Newcastle made a clear speech to Aurelio De Laurentiis: the English club is willing to improve Real Madrid’s offer for Koulibaly by ten million euros,” Area Napoli quoted him as saying.
There’s a good chance this story is being encouraged by Aurelio De Laurentiis as he tries to talk the player’s value up. Newcastle, given their expected wealth, and just the latest club to be used.
