Newcastle United are ‘willing’ to make an effort to sign Nabil Fekir from Real Betis this summer as the Spanish side consider a sale to balance the books.
That’s according to Fichajes, who explain that Fekir’s excellent performances for Manuel Pellegrini’s side have not gone unnoticed by those in charge at St. James’ Park.
They are willing to make a move and get him out of the Benito Villamarin with a ‘stroke of a chequebook’ after trying last summer.
They were unsuccessful in their attempts that time around but hope to have ‘new opportunities’ in this window to convince the Frenchman.
They want to make the player believe that a move to Newcastle would be the best thing for his career as he could try his luck in the Premier League and be the ‘figurehead’ and ‘absolute leader’ of their new sporting project.
For the moment, Betis have not received any firm offers for Fekir, but a move ‘cannot be ruled out’ despite him recently signing a new contract.
For them, nobody at the club is ‘non-transferable’, particularly not Fekir, as he can secure them a ‘good sum of millions’ in the bank.
It’s up to Newcastle, then, to make a bid and see if they can tempt Betis into a sale.
