Newcastle United are about to have a new chance to sign French forward Hugo Ekitike.
The Magpies were one of the sides who pursued the 20-year-old last summer, when he ended up leaving Reims for Paris Saint Germain.
Now as L’Equipe writes about the player, it’s claimed that Newcastle ‘will be active’ for that signing once again.
Ekitike only has four goals and three assists in 27 appearances for PSG this season, and with the club trying to get rid of big salaries, he could leave them after just one year.
L’Equipe spoke to a ‘European recruiter’ who claimed that ‘the loan with option to buy would be best for PSG’, as the French side could pull a deal where they let the player prove himself at his new club before the permanent transfer is done.
It’s just not said how much Newcastle would need to pay for the striker, who’s valued by Transfermarkt at €25m right now.
Other clubs who were previously interested in him such as Eintracht Frankfurt, AC Milan and Juventus could all be fighting for his signing once again this summer.
