Earlier this month, claims from the UK stated West Ham United have set their sights on Rayan Vitor Simplício Rocha, simply known as Rayan. The Hammers are now joined by Newcastle United in the chase for the Vasco da Gama youngster.
The 16-year-old came up through the ranks of the Brazilian club’s youth system before he was promoted to their first team on June 11th, scoring on his debut. Since then, Rayan has made four more appearances and both Newcastle and West Ham have followed him.
That’s according to TuttoMercatoWeb, who add the Premier League duo are also keen to sign him in this window.
The talented striker has a deal until December 2025 and it’s claimed Vasco da Gama value him at $25m [€22.7m]. They also want a percentage of the fee from his future sale.
The ‘important valuation’ hasn’t put off David Moyes’ side and the Magpies, as TMW say they would like to take further steps to buy him.
In fact, Newcastle and West Ham intend to ‘close the deal immediately’ and then allow Rayan to continue at the Brazilian club until he turns 18 in August 2025.
There’s no mention of Rayan’s preference between the two English clubs.
