Newcastle United have a ‘verbal agreement’ with Lyon for the transfer amount of Bruno Guimaraes, but there is still work to be done on the deal.
That’s according to RMC Sport, who say the Magpies have to work out the ‘payment terms and various commissions’ for the Brazilian midfielder.
A move for Guimaraes has become a real possibility for Newcastle over the last 24 hours after Lyon made it clear they were willing to sell this month.
Several reports have had a deal progressing, and earlier today, L’Equipe reported they were still working on a deal and had various issues to work out before it could be completed.
RMC Sport back that up, stating that Newcastle have ‘reached a verbal agreement’ regarding the transfer amount with Lyon for Guimaraes but not yet on the payment terms and the various commissions that will be involved in the deal.
They say that the midfielder has ‘given his agreement’ to join the Magpies and ‘everything should be able to be resolved’ on Friday, the day after Brazil’s clash with Ecuador.
Guimaraes will then meet with his agents to try to conclude the transfer before the end of the transfer window.
The positive news for Newcastle is that numerous outlets are now providing plenty of positivity about the move, with RMC even suggesting it could be finalised this week.
