Newcastle United are reportedly making a new offer for Lokomotiv Zagreb midfielder Lovro Majer.
It’s Italian website Calcio Mercato who reports it, as they follow the Magpies’ race with Sampdoria for the 20-year-old.
According to the outlet, Sampdoria were in advanced talks with Lokomotiv, getting close to an agreement after offering them €8m plus 20% of a future sale.
But now Newcastle would be ready to outbid the Italian side, as the Premier League club would offer £10m (€11.5m).
The Magpies also have an advantage in the personal terms. While Sampdoria offered the player €700k per season, Rafael Benitez’s side are putting €1.1m on the table.
Calcio Mercato claims that the player has a long time dream of playing in the Premier League, which would also help Newcastle in the tussle.
So considering the bid, the personal terms and his Premier League dream, if all the claims are correct it’s hard to imagine Majer not choosing the move to St James’ Park.
