There are frequent reports in the French media which hype former PSG sporting director Antero Henrique, and sometimes they’re so positive towards him it feels like he could have written the words himself.

Le10 Sport have another on the situation, and claim Newcastle United have him on their agenda. The idea is the club’s prospective Saudi owners would task Henrique with going out into the transfer market and getting the signings required.

The French outlet even states Henrique played a major part in the January transfer of Bruno Fernandes, working on a freelance basis. That claim seems highly dubious, with Miguel Pinho being the agent involved, and reports at the time saying Jorge Mendes was assisting with the deal.

Henrique wasn’t in the picture.

Newcastle ‘think’ of appointing Henrique, and are the ‘hottest track’, although it’s made clear there’s also interest from elsewhere. That’s always claimed and it’s a wonder that if he’s as much in demand as has been claimed since his PSG exit, why no club has snapped him up already.

Le10 Sport even say Barcelona are considering giving him a role.
