According to claims in the Turkish media, Newcastle United are set to make another offer for Galatasaray attacker Garry Rodrigues, and talks are set to commence in the coming weeks.
The Cape Verde international has been linked with the Premier League side since last summer and the Magpies have already tabled two bids for the player.
Milliyet report Newcastle United are preparing a ‘very attractive’ offer for Rodrigues, which could be in the region of €23m. This would be a significant increase from their last offer when it was reported they’d bid just €8m in the last transfer window.
The €23m figure comes from the deal which saw Cenk Tosun move to Everton, and was the base fee for that transfer. Besiktas are set to receive more from the Toffees in terms of bonuses, and this is the plan Newcastle are said to be following.
In recent weeks, Rafael Benitez’s club have been sending scouts to get a further lowdown on the winger, and he’s impressed for the Turkish giants during those games.
Rodrigues has been instrumental in the club’s title ambitions and now they are on the verge of winning the Turkish Super Lig with one game remaining.
Everton and West Ham United have also been linked with Rodrigues, with the Hammers said to have submitted their own offer, of around €12m, recently.
