According to claims in the Turkey media, Besiktas president Fikret Orman could be open to selling Cenk Tosun in January if the right proposal comes in.

Tosun was linked with a move to Newcastle United in the summer after the Premier League side tabled a bid for the forward, and last week they travelled to Istanbul to watch the player.

Haberturk have today reported on comments Orman made to Besiktas coach Senol Gunes, when discussing the future of Tosun with the Turkish champions: “If the proposals are very serious numbers and we need to sell to benefit the club, we will sell. But your opinion is also important. If the proposals arrive in January, we will sit back and talk.”

Earlier this week we covered claims from Turkey that Newcastle United sent a scout to the game between Turkey and Iceland last Friday to get a lowdown on Tosun, following their links with the player in the last window.

Newcastle United tabled a bid in the region of £8m for the Turkey international this summer, but this was rejected by Besiktas.

However, it seems Rafael Benítez is still keen on Tosun, and there’s still a possibility they could go back in for him in January.
