Newcastle United haven’t finished in the transfer window yet, and if reports are to be believed Rafael Benitez has got his club working right up to the deadline.
With Newcastle fighting so hard to get promotion back to the Premier League at the first attempt, the end of this window could turn out to be crucial if a vital piece is added to Benitez’s Newcastle jigsaw.
French newspaper L’Equipe claim that Newcastle United haven’t given up on Nicolas Pepe and are willing to battle Premier League club Hull City for the player.
Pepe is currently with Angers and an offer from Hull City has already been turned down, but it’s claimed Newcastle United are ready to pay the club’s asking price of €10m.
Lyon and Marseille are also interested and Angers would like the chance of Pepe returning on loan, which Newcastle United aren’t thought to be keen on.
Pepe is 21 years of age and a right footed right winger who can also play upfront.
