Queens Park Rangers’ Tjaronn Chery, and Newcastle United’s Jonjo Shelvey have been named in Talksport’s team of the season after the opening eleven games of the Championship. Both midfielders have been impressive form for their clubs in the early part of this campaign.
Talksport have selected QPR star Chery because they believe he’s been one of the standout players in the Championship this season. The 28-year-old already has four goals to his name so far in the campaign, and even though the West London team have faltered in recent weeks Chery has maintained his form.
Chery has been partnered in midfielder with Newcastle’s United’s Shelvey following his start to the season. They say the former Liverpool player has shown his class at Championship level, and has contributed with goals for Rafa Bentiez’s side. Shelvey already has three goals to his name this term, including a stunning long range effort against QPR earlier in the season.
Newcastle United’s objective will to bounce back to the Premier league at the first attempt, and the £12m man will be key to achieving this.
