Miguel Almirón is no longer a starter under Eddie Howe at Newcastle United and has been limited to 136 minutes from seven league games this season.

On Wednesday, the winger’s agent revealed that several clubs have made unofficial offers and also confirmed interest from MLS.

Last summer, Charlotte FC made an offer for the 30-year-old. It was turned down by Newcastle United, but Charlotte are now keen on signing him in the winter market.

That’s according to Fútbol a lo Grande, who took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to state that Almirón is finalising the details of the contract with Charlotte FC. They have posted a picture of the Paraguay international at an airport in Paris.

A few hours later, Fútbol a lo Grande had a chat with the attacker’s agent, Daniel Campo, who has now confirmed the American club want to sign his client.

“Charlotte are interested but there was no agreement, Miguel is not ready and has a contract with Newcastle,” he said.

The representative has stated the Magpies player has received approaches from clubs in Europe. He mentioned this when explaining why Almirón was in Paris and dismissed any transfer suggestions.

“He’s on leave in Paris, clubs that want him have to speak directly with his club. He isn’t traveling anywhere. He went to rest for a few days in Paris, there are polls from Europe and other countries,” Campo explained.
