With 13 goals in 24 appearances so far this season, Sasa Kalajdzic is making headlines in Germany and catching the eye of many scouts.
Very recently linked with a move to West Ham United, who still haven’t replaced Sébastien Haller, the towering Austria international is also of interest to Newcastle United.
This comes via TuttoJuve in Italy, who, according to their information, report that not only are the Magpies, RB Leipzig and Everton keen, but also the reigning Serie A champions.
They state the player is currently considered ‘the next Haaland’ despite him being 23 years of age, which is a bit daft, if you ask us, but the idea that he could make a move to a bigger team than Stuttgart is certainly there ahead of the summer.
It’s stated Kalajdzic is currently valued at around €20m, which is affordable for a club of Newcastle’s stature, should they manage to avoid the drop back down to the Championship.
It isn’t exactly a secret that Steve Bruce could do with an extra striker at St James’ Park, having relied mostly on the now injured Callum Wilson for goals this season, and a target man like Kalajdzic could do the trick.
First, however, they’ll need to remain in the Premier League, and then, maybe, just maybe, they can think about spending big.
