Newcastle United have repeatedly been linked with Boubacar Kamara during the current window, with some wild claims relating to a possible deal.

On August 10th there were big claims from Italy stating the Magpies were set to sign the midfielder for €40m. This was very questionable, not only because it would be a huge fee for the club to pay, but also because the amount was far more than Marseille are currently asking for.

Thursday’s edition of L’Equipe backs that up, as they say it’s now ‘money time’ for the Ligue 1 club and they need to start completing sales.

When it comes to Kamara, Newcastle are said to be ‘on the lookout’, retaining an interest in the player. However, their priority is another kind of midfielder, with it being stated the club are looking for a ‘box-to-box’ player.

As far as transfer fee, the French newspaper believe €15m will be enough to satisfy Marseille, an amount the Premier League club could surely reach should they decide to take the plunge for the 21-year-old before the end of the month.
