Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul could be line for his senior debut with Ajax at the weekend. The Dutchman is currently on loan with the Dutch side as he recovers from the serious knee injury he sustained last season.
Soccer News have reported Krul could be inline to play in Ajax’s clash with PEC Zwolle following reports current No.1 André Onana could miss the game due to illness. Dutch newspaper Ad.nl have also confirmed via social media that Onana could miss the game at the weekend after missing training today.
The Cameroon international has been in impressive form for Ajax this season which has meant Krul has had to watch from the sidelines since returning from injury.
Due to Newcastle United manger Rafa Benitez bringing in Matz Sels early in the last transfer window from Gent, Krul was sent on loan to Ajax to get more opportunities.
Krul played just nine games for Newcastle United in the last campaign before his injury on international duty. However, the Newcastle United owned player’s only appearances since have come in the Jupiler League with Ajax reserves.
