Turin newspaper Tuttosport have a feature in their Thursday edition on local club Torino and their desire to improve in the January transfer window.
Torino are currently 10th in Serie A after six games, and their season could very much go one way or another.
Adding quality and depth to the squad in January can only provide a boost for manager Sinisa Mihajlovic.
Several names are linked with a move to the club in January and one that stands out is Christian Atsu. The 24 year old is currently on loan with Newcastle United from Chelsea, his fifth loan away from Stamford Bridge since he joined the club in 2013.
Atsu is on a season long loan deal, but Tuttosport clearly believe Torino could find a way around that somehow.
Whilst Rafa Benitez has stated publicly that he’s pleased with Atsu, that hasn’t yet resulted in a bunch of minutes on the pitch for the player.
Should Newcastle not be entirely sure about Atsu for the second half of the season then Torino may be a reasonable option for all involved, and could be Atsu’s sixth loan club.
