As Italian newspaper Corriere del Mezzogiorno features a piece on Napoli players who are away on international duty, they couldn’t ignore the fact that some of these footballers may be leaving the club this summer.
So when speaking of striker Victor Osimhen, who’s currently with Nigeria’s national team, the outlet highlights Newcastle United’s interest in him.
Besides claiming the Magpies have been following the 23-year-old, they end up claiming the Premier League side are actually chasing one of his teammates as well.
According to Corriere del Mezzogiorno, Newcastle had an emissary at the match between Napoli and Milan a few weeks ago. There they monitored Osimhen and Fabian Ruiz.
That was certainly not a great match to watch, as Napoli lost 1-0 at home, although the report doesn’t say what the Magpies thought of those players’ individual performances.With Osimhen currently valued by Transfermarkt at €60m and Ruiz at €55m, the Serie A side can certainly cash in with big sales to Newcastle this summer.
