Newcastle United target Cenk Tosun has been quizzed about his future, following Beskitas’ 1-1 draw with FC Porto last night.

Tosun’s goals in the Champions League have resulted in Besiktas becoming the first Turkish club to finish top of the group in the competition, but it’s also brought attention from others for the forward.

Sporx have reported on comments Tosun made after the draw in Istanbul when he was asked about recent interest from other clubs: “With transfer talk, I know there is speculation. It really makes me proud that lots of big clubs are interested in me.”

The Turkey international has been strongly linked with Newcastle United in recent weeks after claims the Premier League side have opened talks with the player’s agent, Senol Tosun.

Newcastle United were unsuccessful with their attempts to sign the 26 year old in the last window when their offer of £8m was rejected.

With Beskitas now in the next round of the Champions League it’s perhaps unlikely the Turkish champions will sell the player in January, but an offer is still expected from Newcastle United.
