At the weekend, Sport reported the Magpies are posing as a threat for Barcelona to sign the 24-year-old.

The Canada international has a deal expiring at the end of this season and there are no signs of him signing an extension. He has also starred for the Ligue 1 side, scoring eight goals and registering two assists from 13 games this season.
