Newcastle United winger Florian Thauvin is facing an uncertain future at the Championship club.
The 23-year-old spent the last six months on loan at his former club Marseille, after failing to make an impact at Newcastle.
With Newcastle being relegated, Thauvin is now expected to switch clubs again temporarily or permanently.
Marseille are keen on signing him on loan, especially in their current financial situation, whilst Lazio were also linked to the player.
According to French website La Provence, Marseille’s offer of a loan deal for Thauvin doesn’t appeal to Newcastle.
The French winger is keen on spending the next season on loan at Marseille, and the Ligue 1 club would also gladly take him on board.
However, they need to find an agreement with Newcastle, and that seems to be dragging on at the moment.
Previous reports in France have explained that Newcastle are flexing their muscles over this deal and, rightfully, won’t simply accept terms offered to them, but expect interested clubs to sing to their tune.
