Fenerbahce sporting director Emre Belozoglu has identified Nice’s central defender Malang Sarr as an option for the Turkish club next season, but Fotospor claim the player has been drawing attention from other European clubs, including Newcastle United.
Fotospor say Emre has been working with agent Federico Pastorello, who had an influence on his transfer to Newcastle United back in 2005, and Malang Sarr is a player he’s currently looking at.
Along with Newcastle, it’s reported Lazio and Eintracht Frankfurt are also interested in signing the 21 year old, who has been impressing for Nice.
Given Fenerbahce’s financial situation, it’s unlikely that they will be able to compete with the likes of Newcastle and Lazio, however Emre is hoping they can still lure him to Istanbul by offering a lucrative contract.
According to Fotospor, Emre will work closely with Pastorello, and the club’s president Ali Koc has also been informed about his pursuit of Sarr.
The 21 year old played 20 games for Nice this season before Ligue 1 came to a premature halt. His contract with the club will expire at the end of June.
