Newcastle United are following Estudiantes de La Plata star Benjamín Rollheiser, according to Olé.
This year, manager Eduardo Domínguez has used him across various positions, including as a right winger, an attacking midfielder and even a centre forward. He has managed 12 goals and six assists from 54 games.
His displays seem to have pleased Newcastle as the report states they have ‘expressed interest’ in securing the 23-year-old’s services.
Despite showing interest in the Argentine, Olé say Estudiantes haven’t yet received any concrete offer from the Magpies.
Rollheiser’s deal lasts until 2025 and it’s said he’s expected to change clubs in January and his club hope that several clubs interested in him will table proposals.
Olé state Estudiantes own 50% of the South American’s rights, and the remaining is held by the player and his camp.
In the summer, Rollheiser received interest from England, Brazil and the United States but decided to continue with the South American club.
Newcastle were one of those linked at the time as TNT Sports reported back in August that Eddie Howe’s side had looked at him in the last window. A deal didn’t take shape then and it needs to be seen whether there would be a different outcome in the winter market.
