Newcastle United are signing Alexander Isak from Real Sociedad, according to claims from close to the Spanish club.
Diario Vasco today reports that after presenting ‘an irrefutable offer’ to Real Sociedad, the Magpies are signing the Swedish star in a €70m deal.
The La Liga side are also expected to get €5m from performance bonuses and 10% of a future sale (presumably profit from a future sale), with the report making it clear that this was a bid the club could not turn down.
Diario Vasco points out that Newcastle had been all over Isak ‘all summer’ and only now made the formal offer for the signing. Convinced by the bid, Real Sociedad are now already going to the market for a replacement.
Isak joined the La Liga side in a €15m move from Borussia Dortmund back in the summer of 2019. In his years at the club, he had 44 goals and eight assists in 132 appearances, and his potential has always been a reason for him to be linked to several Premier League sides in the past few seasons.
With Newcastle apparently making only one offer for the signing, it sounds like the Magpies made a deep study of the situation to make a perfect attack for the transfer.
