According to a claim in the Turkish media, Newcastle United are showing a strong interest in Stoke City midfielder Badou Ndiaye.

The Premier League side were linked with Ndiaye in the last window before he signed for the Potters.

Sabah report the 27 year old is unlikely to return to Turkey in the next window, even if Stoke City are relegated from the Premier League.

Ndiaye spent two and a half seasons in Turkey, and Galatasaray, Besiktas and Fenerbahce have been linked with the Senegal international in recent weeks.

However, the Turkish newspaper say Stoke City are not looking to send Ndiaye to Turkey on loan, after signing the player for €16m in the last window.

Sabah say the Potters will look to sell him to a Premier League club for the same fee they paid Galatasaray, with Newcastle United a possible destination.

During the last window we covered reports from Turkey that Newcastle United tabled a bid in the region of €18m, but a deal never materialised.
