One of the first players to be linked with Newcastle United, following their recent takeover, was Aaron Ramsey.

The midfielder was one of the obvious options for the Magpies, and one of the moves which looked the easiest for the club to conduct. Despite refusing to leave Juventus in the summer window, when the Turin side were ready to let the Welshman go, recent events have given an indication things are changing.

Ramsey has suggested that the medical treatment he gets whilst away with Wales is superior to that on offer in Turin, and that’s encouraged a growing bitterness. It’s assumed, in the media close to Juventus, that such comments mean Ramsey is now heading towards the exit.

There’s even been claims of early contact from Newcastle United, and the offer of a three year deal.

Calciomercato take a look at the player’s situation, and they say Ramsey is now ‘convinced’ a move would be the best way forward. Juventus would allow him to leave for free in January, on one condition.

They don’t want to pay a penny more to the player, or to continue with payments to his agents. Calciomercato report Ramsey currently earns €7m a year after tax, on a contract lasting until June 2023, and his agents are said to be owed €2.8m.

Juventus are determined not to subsidise that in any way, and that’s their condition to let him go on a free transfer.
