Earlier this week, we covered quotes from RB Leipzig star Dominik Szoboszlai, who couldn’t guarantee whether he’ll stay at the club for the next season.
The 22-year-old has been linked to Newcastle United, who’ve been scouting him, and he made it clear his future is open.
As Sport Bild today writes about the situation, they point out the ‘mega problem’ this scenario is creating for RB Leipzig.
It’s revealed that Newcastle or other interested clubs don’t necessarily need to negotiate a transfer with the German side, as they can only trigger a €70m release clause until the 15th of July.
That uncertainty regarding Szoboszlai’s future bothers RB Leipzig, who don’t really know how to plan their transfer window because he can be signed all of a sudden.
The Bundesliga side also face a dilemma because even though they don’t want to lose any other stars, they also need to make €100m with sales due to Financial Fair Play.
Newcastle’s interest in Szoboszlai has been reportedly by multiple sources in the German media, and there seems to be clear apprehension about the Magpies suddenly moving to sign the 22-year-old this summer.
