Albacete Balompié is unlikely to be a club firmly on the radar of many fans, but it would appear multiple Premier League clubs are keeping an eye on a talent there.
Thursday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo reports Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Manchester United are among the clubs in the mix to sign 18-year-old Christian Kofane from the Segunda División side.
The report states ‘half of Europe’ have already been in touch about signing the youngster, who is described as a ‘sensation’. Other interested parties are named as Atlético Madrid, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Villarreal, Real Betis, Lille and AS Monaco.
All of those are said to have already made contact, just like Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Manchester United.
The striker has a contract lasting until 2031 and a release clause which stands at just €5m, easily affordable for any of the Premier League clubs interested in him.
He’s getting a surge of media attention after scoring five times over his last seven matches.
Christian Kofane would almost certainly be one for the future for most of the clubs mentioned, rather than someone who could slot into the first team squad immediately.
