Over the weekend, Gazzetta dello Sport again reported on Newcastle United’s interest in Juventus talent Nicolo Savona.

The newspaper stated the versatile right-back could be one of the candidates to leave Juve, who are once again looking to sell youngsters to make profit to spend on older players.

TuttoSport report that while Newcastle United have not made an official offer for Savona, they ‘appear to be serious’ for the Italian’s signature. It’s believed the Magpies could make an approach soon and therefore things could progress from there.

The Turin newspaper also report the Bianconeri have prepared for Savona’s exit. Juventus see Atalanta’s Marco Palestra as a replacement for the 22-year-old but the Bergamo club’s price-tag of over €20m is proving to be a problem.

Should Eddie Howe’s side sign Savona, they will not be able to use the right-back immediately. The player has been nursing an ankle injury for a couple of weeks now and is expected to return to action in September.
