With Eddie Howe now at the helm, Newcastle can focus on the January transfer window.
The new manager has made it clear that, for the time being, the thinking will be short term, which means saving the Magpies from relegation.
Some investment in January would go a long way to achieving that, and a new midfielder wouldn’t hurt, with a couple of options readily available in Italy in the shape of Aaron Ramsey and Adrien Rabiot.
We already covered the interest in the Frenchman on Wednesday, and the desire to sign the Welshman certainly isn’t new, but Tuttosport still take a look at it on Thursday.
They explain that two clubs are currently after him, the first being Everton, and the second Newcastle.
The Tyneside club are expected to undergo some transfer windows to ‘revolutionise the squad’, and Ramsey ‘appears to be a largely affordable incoming’ for the new owners.
Getting rid of one of the two (or both) would be a breath of fresh air for Juventus, who could then look to reinvesting some money into a replacement, all the while allowing Newcastle to strengthen their squad at a reasonable price.
As usual, we’ll be keeping an eye on things over the next few weeks.
