With the end of the Premier League window just a matter of hours away, a few clubs are speeding things up to get deals over the line at the last minute.

One, however, that appears to still be at a standstill is Newcastle United’s attempt to sign Stanley Nsoki from Paris Saint-Germain.

Previous reports claimed that while the two clubs had reached an agreement for the player’s transfer, the defender wasn’t enthralled at the idea of moving to the north of England.

This is being repeated on Wednesday by Le Parisien, who give a few details as to what’s going on.

The two clubs are OK on a €11m + 15% of a future sale for the versatile defender, but the personal terms remain an issue.

Talks are currently ‘on standby’, but Le Parisien reckon a new offer from Steve Bruce’s side could get the cogs turning again, but if they don’t, then Nsoki could end up looking at a move to Italy and Germany where clubs have also shown an interest.

It all comes down to Newcastle and how much money they are prepared to pay the 20-year-old because right now, he isn’t happy with the terms.
