The Brazilian media now shares some updates on the incident with Newcastle United star Bruno Guimarães at the national team training session today.

UOL have a story saying that it started with a challenge involving the Magpies’ player and Liverpool midfielder Fabinho.

Bruno Guimarães needed medical assistance, which is described by the report as being ‘relatively long’, as the doctors stayed with him for around three minutes.

The Newcastle player complained about pain in his right foot, and after the training session, journalists spotted a hole on his boots, caused by Liverpool’s Fabinho.

Still, Bruno Guimarães is fine, having returned for the rest of the training session. And since today it’s his 25th birthday, he had family at the training centre.

Fabinho and Bruno are, at least for now, expected to be on Brazil’s bench in the World Cup. Even though they’re both midfielders, they don’t fight for the same place.

The Liverpool player tries to steal a spot from Casemiro, which is highly unlikely. The Newcastle star, meanwhile, could replace Fred, and that’s seen as a more winnable battle.
