Already a target for multiple clubs in the summer, Lens midfielder Seko Fofana is once again a wanted man.
The Ivory Coast international has quickly built himself a great reputation with his impressive performances in Ligue 1, and Newcastle United have taken notice.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who report that the former Manchester City youngster is now one of the ‘best midfielders’ in the French league, winning September’s Player of the Month in the process.
That’s why the Magpies, alongside Marseille, Milan, Atalanta and a few other English clubs ‘continue to watch his performances’.
However, the money at Newcastle’s disposal isn’t ‘shaking RC Lens’, because the French side ‘do not need money and should politely refuse winter offers barring a huge cheque’.
That’s something we all know Eddie Howe and co. can now produce if they so wish, with the January transfer window expected to be a busy affair at St James’ Park, and it will be interesting to see if they dare test the northern French club’s nerve in the coming months.
