Newcastle United remain on of the ‘most interested’ clubs in Real Valladolid defender Ivàn Fresneda and could move for him this month.
That’s according to Numero Diez, who say there are several clubs ‘ready to bid’ for the highly-rated youngster and Newcastle are one of them.
Fresneda is seen as one of the best prospects in Spanish football and a player who will be a guarantee for years to come.
His performances for Valladolid have been earning him plenty of attention and have ‘made the rounds’ in Europe, where several clubs are ready to bid for him.
Numero Diez’s editorial staff have learned that the youngster could leave as early as this month, despite a contract that runs until June 2025.
The two clubs ‘most interested’ in the player at this moment in time are Newcastle and Borussia Dortmund, two teams in which Fresneda would have better prospects of playing and chances to prove himself.
There is no mention of the figure they would be willing to pay, or indeed would have to pay to secure his signature, although a report five days ago stated the fee could be between €5-10m.
Newcastle are yet to move it seems but that could easily change, and it now appears to be a race between them and Dortmund.
